Cyclone-Helen- Helen, the cyclonic storm in Bay of Bengal, hit the Andhra Pradesh on November 77. Prior to its arrival, heavy rains lashed the state. The cyclone claimed several lives and lot of damage, especially to agriculture in the state. AP had only just breathed a sigh of relief from Helen when it another storm in Bay of Bengal, christened Lehar, started closing in. Evacuation and rescue measures had kicked off. However, Lehar took a dive as it weakened into deep depression and major devastation was avoided.
